Veloxise Vaultby Veloxise Solutions

Docs

Everything you need to run Veloxise Vault on your own server. The complete guides are also inside the download package (folder docs/).

What you need

  • A server or virtual machine with Ubuntu 24.04 LTS or 26.04 LTS, 2 CPU cores, 4 GB RAM and 20 GB disk
  • A domain name pointing to the server (for example pam.yourcompany.com)
  • Ports 80 and 443 open to your users
  • An SMTP account for e-mail (optional, but recommended)

Install

  1. Download the server package from Downloads and copy the folder to the server.
  2. Run the installer as root: sudo bash deployment.sh. It installs PHP, nginx, MySQL and an HTTPS certificate.
  3. Open the address the installer prints. The setup wizard asks for the one-time setup code shown by the installer.
  4. Create the first administrator, then enter your licence key under server settings.
  5. Every person creates their own vault passphrase in the browser and stores the recovery kit offline.

Update

Copy the new package over the old folder and run sudo bash deployment.sh again. Answer Y to the backup question. Your data, keys and passwords stay as they are.

Back up and restore

Run sudo bash backup.sh on a schedule and keep copies off the server. sudo bash restoration.sh restores a backup on a new server.

Browser extension

Install the extension for Chrome, Edge or Firefox from your account downloads and sign in with your server address. The extension fills passwords only on the exact site they belong to.

Important to know

  • Nobody — not your administrator, not Veloxise — can recover a forgotten vault passphrase. Keep the recovery kit safe.
  • An administrator can reset a person’s sign-in password, two-factor and encryption key. A key reset starts that person with an empty vault.
